About Coach
Hi, I’m Clay! My desire for running started when I was in 6th grade and my mom decided to run a marathon. I watched her train, joined her on training runs and it sparked a love for the sport. I greatly enjoyed running cross country & track through high school, which landed me a scholarship to run collegiately. I ran at Campbell University which is a NCAA Division 1 school in Buies Creek, NC. Post college I was ready for a new challenge, which was to start running marathons and coaching at the high school level. Coaching at the high school level has really become a huge passion of mine. Taking someone who knows very little about running to a level far beyond what they thought was possible is my greatest joy. All of this experience has opened doors for me to get into private coaching, which has landed us all here! As I’ve been asked to coach at all different levels, I want to take my passion for coaching and running to as many as I can. I hope this can encourage, motivate & make physical lasting impacts on each runner I get to work with.
